Immersive Environment Specialist

DREW ATIENZA is currently employed as Media Server Project Manager/Engineer at Video Equipment Rentals and has held various positions such as a Master Projectionist for the world renowned Cirque Du Soliel’s creation team, Immersive Environment Specialist at Technomedia Solutions, Technical Manager for the Thinkwell Group, Chief Technology Officer at 360 BrandVision, and Senior Project Manager here at FX Production Services.

His knowledge, expertise and talent spans a wide range of disciplines and brings an invaluable asset to any project. He has designed and performed multiple projection mapping projects and his entertainment experience gives him the ability to visualize creative solutions. He has an extensive background in design, programming, troubleshooting, building and integrating digital media servers and with over ten years experience in content creation and manipulation and vast experience creating, operating and maintaining large scale shows. Drew has excellent communication skills, which allow him to interface superbly with Clients, Designers, General and Electrical Contractors, which is invaluable when installing large projects with expansive schedules. His experience has provided the foresight to know what steps to take to ensure a perfectly executed project. This depth of expertise provides clients with a true team player who understands the importance of every aspect of a project.

His practical, hands-on experience in creative media development and innovative technology design development gives Drew the unique qualities that allow him to effectively play a key role in almost any project situation. Drew’s impressive list of credits include Bruno Mars "24K Magic" Tour, Jennifer Lopez's "All I Have" residency in Las Vegas, Justin Bieber's "PURPOSE" world tour, David Gilmour's "Rattle that Lock" tour, Cirque Du Soleil “Criss Angel Believe”, Cirque du Soleil "IRIS", Tokyo Disney Seas "Into the Shadows", “Chuthis, Nothing Sticks” featuring Spatial Augmented Reality and Holographic effects and many other notable projects.

Drew was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. His industry training includes VYV Photon Media Server Training (Los Angeles, CA); Disguise (Formerly D3) Training;  ZAP Technology VIP-1 Projector Moving Yoke Training (Los Angeles, CA) Christie Digital 3-Chip DLP Training (Los Angeles, CA); WebTMA (SAP Program) Re-Certificated “Super User” (Los Angeles, CA) Coolux’s Pandora’s Box Training Seminar (Las Vegas, NV);  Green Hippo’s Hippotizer Training Seminar (Las Vegas, NV);  Immersive Technology Summit (Los Angeles, CA); Projected Image Digital Seminar (London, UK);  High End Systems Authorized Service Technician (Austin, TX); High End Systems Digital Lighting Certification (Las Vegas, NV); and his certifications include Fall Protection Certified; Intermediate Rigging; OSHA NFPA 70e Electrical Safety Class; Fire Extinguisher Trained; OSHA 30 Hour Training Certified; Respiratory Protection Certified; Scissor Lift Certified; Lock-Out - Tag-Out Trained; and First Responder CPR Certified.

His most recent credits include Video Projection System Project Manager for Cirque du Soleil "Michael Jackson ONE"; Video Projection System Engineer for Cuartel Ballaja; Lead Video Engineer and Programmer for multiple Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister & Gilly Hicks Flagship Stores; Lead Designer/Engineer for a Holographic Performance System; and Video Engineer for Universal Studios, Orlando "Wizarding World of Harry Potter".
